1300-693-511The Financial Planning Framework
JPM Investment Group has recognized a number of important steps that formulate the financial planning framework. We have identified 5 extremely important steps that will formulate the key strategic advice from a JPM financial advisor.
- Strategic Advice & Planning
- Appropriate Structures
- Investment Selection
- Implementation
- Active Portfolio Management & Review
Strategic Advice
After collating the personal and financial information through our online fact find service, a JPM financial advisor is then able to start the process of formulating the personalized strategic advice and planning for your personal and financial circumstances. There are a number of key areas that will be assessed and reviewed by a JPM financial advisor in order to maximise your overall outcome and benefits. These areas of assessment are highlighted below.
- Superannuation review including current fees charged
- Tax Planning
- Budget Planning and Cash Flow Analysis
- Debt Reduction
- Retirement Planning including Transition to Retirement (TTR)
- Wealth Protection (including Life Insurance and Income Protection)
- Balance Sheet Forecast Analysis and Liquidity
- Estate Planning
Structures
After assessing the strategic advice and planning the next step is to determine the most suitable structure or “entities” that will oversee your investable assets. Whilst the majority of mainstream financial planners will automatically place you into a Wrap Platform with managed investments, we provide a more flexible and rigid structure to oversee your investable assets.
For Superannuation, the structure or “entity” that we incorporate for our clients is via a Self Managed Super Fund “SMSF” (for Super assets greater than $85,000).
Generally in the marketplace the consensus is that you will be required to oversee all the accounting, administration, auditing and compliance and the investments for your superannuation. Here at JPM Investment Group, this is NOT the case.
We offer a full solution to our clients as we work closely with our internal accountants who will ensure all your end of year accounts, auditing and compliance is completed for taxation and compliance purposes. For investable assets outside Superannuation, the accounting entity can either be a "discretionary / family trust" or a "unit trust" structure to facilitate the holding of your investable assets.
Investment Selection
After assessing the strategic advice, planning and establishing the most suitable structure for your personal circumstance, the next important step in the financial planning framework is to ensure your funds are invested in the right asset classes.
JPM Investment Group undertakes extensive independent research to determine and structure investment portfolios for our clients. Based on this extensive research we are able to obtain fundamental and technical analysis from a number of sources that assist us in collating and determining the key trends and major market moves.
As such, irrespective of whether the global economy is expanding or contracting, we have the flexibility to position our clients to profit, preserve and prosper in rising and falling investment markets.
We achieve this by accessing strong fundmental economic information and technical analysis that allows our research team to collate information and structure your portfolio accordingly.
Whilst most financial planners will advise you to sit in a long term buy / hold diversified managed fund portfolio, we ensure our clients are protected from the downside when there are high levels of risk on a global economic scale.
Implementation
After completing the first 3 steps in the financial planning framework, a JPM financial advisor works through and prepares the Statement of Advice (SoA) document that will contain the following information:
- Summary of your current personal and financial positions, outlining your current key goals and objectives
- Incorporate the Strategic Advice and Planning recommendations
- Incorporate the most appropriate structure for your personal circumstances
- Outline the economic analysis, key trends and recommended investment portfolio
- Fully transparent cost analysis of your current structure versus the proposed new structure under JPM Investment Group
- Research Reports detailing the information and research of the investment assets recommended
- Product Disclosure Statements and application forms
As a client, should you feel comfortable with what has been presented to you, the next step is the implementation process. This will incorporate all the information that has been outlined in the Statement of Advice document.
Active Portfolio Management & Review
Once the implementation process has been finalized, a JPM financial advisor will continually monitor and review your financial framework and your investment strategy on a regular basis.
Whilst the standard financial planner in the industry will “generally” provide a review on an annual basis, here at JPM Investment Group we have a unique service offering.
Our unique service offering to you encompasses the following:
- Regular Quarterly Portfolio Updates.
- Regular Monthly Newsletter incorporating economic and market updates.
- Continuous monitoring of key trends and major market movements to ensure you receive the best outcome on your investment strategy.
- We will be “pro-active” in initiating contact with you to make you aware of these changes to your investment strategy. As such, we do not leave it to a regimented once a year formal discussion.
